Overview
Each year two awards of $3,000 are made to college students pursuing careers connected to intellectual or other developmental disabilities. The prize is intended for individuals planning to work in fields such as behavioral sciences, social work, healthcare administration and management, psychology, or other related disciplines.
Award and Disbursement
- Amount: $3,000 per scholarship (two awarded annually).
- Payment schedule: Funds are distributed as $1,500 each semester for any academic year the recipient remains enrolled full-time.
- Claim period: Scholarship funds must be claimed within four years from the date the award is issued.
Who May Apply
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be enrolled full-time in college (any year of study).
- Be pursuing training in a field related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
- Be a resident of New York State.
- Not be currently receiving another scholarship from The Arc New York (simultaneous Arc New York scholarships are not permitted).
